OUR VISION
To empower every child in South Africa to live an outstanding early childhood.
OUR MISSION
Project Hope empowers children to become the very best they can be. We work hand in hand with each child's caregiver, joining forces to provide them with a nurturing preschool education, along with essential health, social, and nutritional support. Together, we give these children the hope they deserve, ensuring a brighter future not only for them but for their caregivers as well
WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO
Confronted with extreme poverty and the challenge of daily survival, these children lack access to quality education and a promising future. Research demonstrates that a child's brain development is most crucial in the first five years, shaping lifelong learning, health, and behavior. Why do we do what we do? To instill hope for their future.

- A five-day "Food Gardening and Growing Health" workshop for caregivers, teaching them how to grow their own food
- Ongoing support and encouragement for caregivers who choose to start a food garden at home

We provide the following educational support:
- The GROW ECD curriculum, along with high-quality educational materials

FAQ’s
How can I sponsor a child?
Sponsoring a child is easy! Simply head over to the Sponsor a Child tab and choose between the Love Package or the Hope Package. Once you’ve signed up, one of our team members will be in touch to walk you through the next steps.
What second-hand items do you accept as donations?
We’re grateful for all kinds of second-hand donations—from clothing for any age or gender to general household items. That said, due to our limited staff, storage, and transport capacity, we’re unfortunately not able to accept large items such as beds, desks, couches, or other bulky furniture.
To help us serve our community efficiently, we kindly ask that donated items be clean and in good working condition, as we are not equipped to clean, repair, or dispose of damaged goods.
Where can I drop off donations?
You're welcome to drop off donations at the Project Hope office, located at Hillcrest Methodist Church, 5 Nqutu Road, Hillcrest, KZN. If our office is closed when you arrive, feel free to leave your items at the church office. Please note that the church premises are only open Monday to Friday, between 8:30 AM and 12:30 PM.
Are you able to collect donated items or meet me elsewhere?
Unfortunately, we're a small team of just 3–4 people and don't have the capacity to collect items—though we truly wish we could!
Do you accept recycling?
Yes, we do! We gratefully accept:
- Bread tags
- Plastic bottle tops
- Clean glass coffee jars with lids
- Clean ice cream containers with lids
These items are incredibly helpful for our Jars of Hope and Tubs of Hope nutritional support projects.
We kindly ask that all recycling be washed and dried before being dropped off.
How can I donate money?
You can make a financial donation by visiting our Donate tab, where you’ll find several convenient payment options. When donating, please use your name as the reference so we can personally thank you for your support.
How do I know my donation is being used responsibly?
That’s a great question—and an important one.
Project Hope is a registered Non-Profit Company, closely monitored by CIPC and SARS. Our finances are managed by an independent Chartered Accounting firm, ensuring that every cent is handled transparently, legally, and with care. Your contributions go directly toward supporting our programs and the children we serve.
I have another question that’s not answered here.
We’d love to help! Please feel free to email us at director@projecthope.org.za, and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
