In the heart of the Valley of 1000 Hills, life moves with a steady, determined rhythm, much like the Inchanga Choo Choo on the sheer climb from Kloof to Botha’s Hill. We see it daily in the eyes of our children and the tireless hands of their caregivers – a quiet belief that no matter how high, the summit is within reach.
We now provide donors three ways to sponsor a child. This year, our ‘little engine’ is gaining momentum through our Shop of Hope: Social Enterprise, a new spoke in our wheel. Join Project Hope and fuel a child’s potential beyond the steep tracks of poverty.

1. Support Social Enterprise: The Shop of Hope
Invest in a model where charity meets entrepreneurship. Follow our most recent development, an Income Generation Incentive.
The Shop of Hope empowers the caregivers who look after underprivileged children beneath the Project Hope umbrella. These aren’t distant figures; they are normal mums and dads from the community using their hands to create tangible benefits for their families.
By purchasing their beautiful, handcrafted creations, you are a supporting sustainable social enterprise. Ethical shopping with a purpose. Every quality item sold builds a bridge of trust between you and the resilient families of Mlambo (Nurture a Thriving Esihle) and supports early childhood development (ECD) of their charges.
- Economic Dignity: Sales provide a stable income for local families, reducing their dependency on aid.
- Reinvestment: All the profits from the Shop of Hope go back to the Artisans – the hands that uplift the child.
- Skill Development: If you are interested in laying down the train tracks, so to speak, ask us about our Caregiver Support: funding skills development and income generation opportunities that add to the basket of Hope.
For now, limited items are available through the Shop Tab on this website. We are in the process of developing a dedicated e-commerce site for the Shop of Hope featuring our full range of Creative African Crafts: Watch this space!
2. Monthly Child Sponsors
When you sign up for a Love (R350/mth) or Hope (R700/mth) Package, you upgrade and equip a central line for one child’s ECD journey.
Your recurring support allows the Project Hope Team to plan for a toddler’s future with confidence and to enrol a precious ingane in a local preschool (e.g., Embo Child Educare Centre and Siyamudumisa Daycare): delivering the stability they need to develop sound foundations so they can thrive (Empower Sanele – Fund a Father).
Sponsor a preschooler; Your monthly contribution provides:
- Daily Nutrition: clean water & two holistic ECD meals scientifically designed to thwart hunger injustice.
- Quality Education: Access to a safe classroom and structured curriculum with measurable outcomes (ECD Grow – Help Lihle Smile).
- Holistic Care: Regular health screenings. And the emotional support of a qualified and dedicated teacher.

3. Once-off Tax Savvy Donation
If you want to make a bold, immediate impact, a once-off donation is a strategic way to invest in our mission while enjoying Section 18A tax benefits.
Did you know?
You can deduct your KZN charity donation from your taxable income (≤ 10% of your annual income).
Also, the 2026 Budget raised the donation threshold from R100,000 to R150,000.
A strategic way to give back, and a savvy tax relief for donors.
- Immediate results: Your funds are used for ‘big wins’ like upgrading the Shop of Hope workshop or building functional daycare toilets.
- Individual & Corporate Teamwork: If you’re an individual making a year-end contribution or a company planning your annual CSI budget, your ECD funding ensures our combined efforts equate to more than a hope for change – we deliver it!
